Government Programs

Children's disABILITY Services (CDS) A Manitoba Department of Families program supporting families raising children with developmental or physical disabilities. Services include funding, planning support, and connection to community resources. Eligibility is for children under 18 with qualifying diagnoses.

Community Living disABILITY Services (CLDS) Supports eligible adults with intellectual disabilities to live good and satisfying lives in their communities. CLDS works with individuals to develop person-centred plans and connect them to the right services and funding.

Children's Therapy Network of Manitoba (CTNM) A provincial network connecting children to speech-language pathologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and audiologists through schools and regional health authorities.

Non-Profit Organizations

Manitoba Possible A province-wide organization (formerly Society for Manitobans with Disabilities) offering programs across employment, recreation, therapy, deaf services, wheelchair services, and more. Locations in Winnipeg and several rural communities.

Community Living Manitoba A provincial network of 11 local branches advocating for the inclusion and rights of people with intellectual disabilities. Part of a national federation; offers resources, publications, and family support.

Inclusion Winnipeg Winnipeg's advocacy-focused charity for people with intellectual disabilities. Helps individuals and families navigate systems, access services, and advance human rights. Part of the Inclusion Canada network.

Continuity Care A Manitoba non-profit helping families plan for the long-term future of a family member with an intellectual disability. Offers workshops, individualized planning support, and a network of connections.

Abilities Manitoba A network of agencies providing services to adults with intellectual disabilities across Manitoba. Offers training, advocacy, and a directory of member organizations organized by region and service type.

Reaching E-Quality Employment Services (REES) A Winnipeg-based employment service helping people with visible and non-visible disabilities or health conditions find and maintain quality employment. Offers counselling, job matching, and employer consultation.

Advocacy & Rights

Manitoba Advocate for Children and Youth (MACY) An independent office of the Manitoba Legislature that advises children, youth, and young adults on their rights and available services. Can help when government services aren't meeting their obligations.

Manitoba League of Persons with Disabilities (MLPD) A consumer-controlled advocacy organization promoting accessibility and inclusion for people of all abilities. MLPD offers community navigation support, accessibility consulting, and systemic advocacy on issues like housing, transportation, and income supports. Active in Manitoba for nearly 50 years.
