God Bless this Child
Down Syndrome Creed
You May Not Know What to Say
You are Part of God’s Perfect Plan
 

You may not know just what to say
When you hear our news
Our baby may not be the "perfect" child
That many people would choose.

But friends and family, rejoice with us!
Condolences, keep away--
Our child's a special treasure,
And we know we've been blessed today!

For we never asked for a "perfect" child
To show off in suits or in bows,
We asked only that God would come to us...
In whatever form He chose.

You are Part of God’s Perfect Plan

God planned the smallest detail
on the day He formed the earth,
And, just as carefully, He planned
each detail of your birth.
He knew the colour of your eyes
the texture of your hair,
the circumstances of your days
each how and when and where.
And God has had a perfect plan
from all eternity
to touch the lives of others
through the lives of you and me.
He blesses us and fills us
with joy beyond all measure
for He considers each of us
a rare and priceless treasure.
